The world and exploration were excellent as expected, but i was most surprised by the superb gameplay.

Making the lock on button snap the camera behind your character if no one is in view. Five games later since Demon's Souls, the camera is still complete shit in certain situations. If they're leaning more and more into the action with fights being more and more reliant on reactions, why in the name of god is the roll still tied to the release of the button rather than the press? How about a boss that actually gets weaker in phase 2 after you've been hacking away at it so long? How about a boss that requires the use of contraptions or the terrain?Īt this point I feel the boss fights are becoming formulaic and tiring, and From refuses to fix actual issues that still plague the series. People complain about "gimmicky" bosses, but those really broke the monotony and added a bit of flavor. And I think back to my entire playthrough, and pretty much every boss in this game has been the exact same experience, requiring literally no different strategy.

and I'm greeted with yet ANOTHER giant boss with the same type of moves, is 20 feet tall but 10x faster and more acrobatic than my character, and has two phases yet again. I just spent hours learning Malenia's movesets to finally beat her, then progress further to the boss of Farum Azula. I've been playing these games since Demon's Souls, and while the joy of exploration and finding NPCs is still there, From is really losing me with the constant need to one up themselves with cool and flashy boss fights.
